OUR CYCLING CLUB

COME RIDE WITH US

A lot of the local Los Angeles clubs are designed for racing, we were formed for one purpose the increase the spirit of the Fireflies and to help new riders get ready for the annual FirefliesWest tour. Along the way we formed a cycling club to keep the knowledge, passion and spirit alive. And as older riders had families, moved away or retired new ‘blood’ riders have taken their place to help train, guide and lead ‘The Fireflies Peloton’.

We always welcome new riders and pride ourselves on being able to train anybody to ride the FirefliesWest Tour, given enough time and effort from the rider. Being a new rider can be intimidating, with us we hope that fear subsides early and you can enjoy cycling in and around Los Angeles with the club.

As a club member you get access to our awesome kit drops, training and education and the benefit of group rides throughout Southern California.

Although we don’t obligate anyone to become a paying member, the $75 annual dues help keep our club running and more importantly, helps us support our annual Tour. Everyone with the Fireflies, including our board members, are all volunteers who don’t take any fee whatsoever.

MEMBERSHIP Process

After you apply, you'll be invited to join us for a few rides. Then, we'll send you an application package with all the details and a payment link.

By applying you accept the following rules:

FFCC LAX is a 100% volunteer cycling club with a purpose. We cycle to raise money to fight cancer during our annual tour.

Riding with the Fireflies jersey is a privilege and an honor. While wearing it, we don't argue with drivers and we don't act in ways that put the group in danger.

We also don't argue with rider leaders, even when they make a mistake on the route. It takes planning and they carry a lot of responsibilities.

If you have any feedback, give after the ride.

FFCC LAX rides are typically "no-drop" rides, where possible we stay together as a group with frequent regroup stops.

You must obey the rules of the road, and be able to ride cohesively in a group, side by side or 2x2.

We practice cycling etiquette by calling out hazards, not passing on the right, and communicating up and down the peloton. If you are unaware of these practices, please reach out to the ride leaders privately.
